Canadian Airborne Forces Association – President’s Update

Jumpers and friends of the Airborne:

The Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Airborne Forces Association will take place at CFB Petawawa from the 11th to the 13th of May 2018. The focus for the AGM will be to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of the Canadian Airborne Regiment and to participate in the Wegner Point commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the loss of seven paratroopers who drowned in the Petawawa River in May 1968.

The AGM is open to all paratroopers, parachutists and friends of the Airborne and will include the following activities:

May 11th         Evening Meet and Greet

May 12th          Morning AGM in 3 RCR Lines, afternoon visit to the Airborne Museum and evening the AGM Dinner

May 13th          Morning Wegner Point Commemoration Service

The administrative and registration details should be available no later than late February 2018.

It is anticipated that CFB Petawawa accommodations will be available at a reasonable cost.

The next teleconference for the CAFA Executive, Board of Directors and Branch Presidents will be held on Thursday the 18th of January at 2000 Ontario time. The AGM will be the main agenda item for the teleconference.
