The Canadian Airborne Forces Association will hold the 2020 Annual General Meeting at CFB Trenton on the 8th, 9th and 10th of May 2020. Please note that this date does not conflict with the annual Memorial Service for Fallen Paratroopers to be held at CFB Petawawa on Sunday May 3rd.
The AGM venue and supporting unit will be the Canadian Army Advanced Warfare Centre (CAAWC) CFB Trenton. A block of rooms has been reserved for CAFA members at the CFB Trenton Yukon Lodge and a reduced rate has been requested from CFB Trenton. Once confirmation of the reduced rate has been received, directions for booking and the room rate will be provided.
Friday May 8th
1500 to 1800 Check In at the Yukon Lodge
1800 to 2200 Meet and Greet at the Earl of Bessborough Pub on base. Dress “Maroon Casual”.
Saturday May 9th
0900 to 1100 AGM at the CAAWC to be followed by presentations from Bernd Horn (The Canadian Airborne Experience from WWII to the Canadian Airborne Regiment) and Roger Chabot (Brothers in Arms & the First Special Service Force). Dress “Maroon Casual”.
1100 to 1230 CAAWC time, kit shop open
1230 to 1800 Free Time
1800 to 2200 AGM Dinner Location TBC. Dress “Smart Casual” (Maroon blazer optional by choice).
Sunday May 10th
1000 to 1100 Memorial Service held in conjunction with the CAAWC at the CAAWC building main entrance. Dress Airborne/Regimental blazer, tie, beret (or equivalent) & medals
1100 Disperse to Home Stations
Spouses and guests are welcome and encouraged to attend the Meet & Greet on Friday, Dinner on Saturday evening and the Memorial Service on Sunday.
Site recce by CAFA President and Secretary to take place on 24 March. The AGM Admin and Registration package (with room reservation details) will be issued soon after the recce. CAFA Board of Directors teleconference to confirm AGM details is planned for 2000 hrs on 2 April (tbc).
